Spring Garden Walkabout
A walkabout on any spring day can take an hour or more. The species of flowers, birds, and butterflies can be numerous. Identifying birds by song and markings is entertainment enough. While strolling around the gardens and fields, colors in countless patterns can challenge a butterfly enthusiast too. When the hillside landscape wakes up from the long winter, it is exhilarating and intoxicating and contagious. The vitality enters the imagination. Spring’s explosion of colors and fragrances are potent elixirs for winter weary spirits. Retuning fauna celebrate in song and molt into vivid hues to woo and multiply. The stirring of life fills the open windows, flowing into rooms and minds that fly out into the realm of magic within the gardens. The garden is a sanctuary where we gently and quietly step and listen and look. Here at Flower Hill Farm the vistas offer stunning views. We are constantly carried through the path right before us. We are also carried out into the wider landscape. Spring is unbelievably beautiful and healing. If the temperature is hot, it can pass so quickly. A cool spring is what I long for.
