Sunset Reflections From Flower Hill Farm Retreat
We cannot see the actual sunset from Flower Hill Farm Retreat, but the reflection on the eastern sky is spectacular, especially when there are clouds, rainbows, and the moon. The sky takes on lavenders and pinks above the cobalt blue of the Mount Holyoke Range and Mount Tom. No two sunsets are the same, except that there is always a vivid display. Rose and mauve skies spread out along the horizon with piles of water vapor . . . thousands of tiny prisms . . . billowing blankets glowing. Each day a unique light show just there in the eastern sky, if we remember to look. Since we are facing east, it is simple to look out the windows or doors, but it must be timed just right. Even better is to be out in the garden to witness the day’s end as she casts a blushing light over the vaulted sky, landscape, and gardens.
