Flower Hill Farm Retreat Winter Landscapes
Winter-landscapes can be beautiful in their starkness and silence. When snow or ice covers the hills and trees and millions of branches, they truly glisten. The ice covered hills and landscapes are like delicate blown glass forests. Birches bend over like ballerinas spreading their long silky tutus along the frozen ground. Sunrises paint the sky mauve colors in contrast to the cobalt and cerulean blues of sky and the Mount Holyoke Range. Snow fog and mist rise up into the gardens and landscape creating drama that can only be seen in winter. Clusters of trees in the gardens stand out on the white earth canvas, stretching out into the chill of air. Their naked trunks and limbs sometimes etched in white. Tracks lead us into the forest. And we grow to love the magic of the winter landscape.
