Happy June sings the Yellow Warbler! Thank you for the rain he continues . . . a delicious way to begin the new month. What other nourishing possibilities await? Hopefully you humans will make the best of them all.
Please do not hold me in contempt of your reasoning. There is no real anthropomorphic intention here. This darling bird could care less what we make of our days only not to use poison on his habitat . . . not to cut it down. He putters around the trees and shrubs singing and gleaning small insects from fresh and spent flowers. I am the lucky one who sits across from where he perches and sings a good part of the day. Then to catch a a full glance that is a joy to see over and again when I am able to capture his portrait so close up.
May the Yellow Warbler’s bright buttery light create a deep smile within you. And, if you would like to see more of the Yellow Warblers along with other songbirds over the years from Flower Hill Farm visit here.
Marion Groves says
Oh that is surely a gem of a moment– wish I could hear the song!
Carol Duke says
He would be charmed by your singing Marion. When the rain goes away give me a call and come out to hear him in person. Hopefully he will still be singing.
Eva says
What a glorious pose you captured. I can imagine the singing.
“Singing in the Rain” . . . you are not only a talented photographer, you are witty The two of you did, indeed, create a deep smile within.
Carol Duke says
Thank you Eva. The little warbler hops about across from where I sit working and stops between gleaning to sing his song. He does this several times a minute. It is delightful and the first year he is spending time so close.
Larry says
What a great little bird and beautiful photo… L
Carol Duke says
Larry, Thanks for visiting and for your kind words. The Yellow Warbler is a great little bird. I feel so blessed that he has decided to spend time right across from where I write each day. His song is so sweet and cheery.
Robin Ruff Leja says
He is very bright and sunny, isn’t he? I’ve never seen them around here, but I get my share of goldfinches instead, which brighten my summer days instead!
